Ok see that granola bar, it was oats and honey, Erin ate it. I thought ok I try everything else why not finally try those "gross" bars. Conclusion...I liked it, doesn't mean I will like all but at least I tried it.
So our flight was pretty good. Despite what I have said in the past, I don't think I actually miss sitting that long without anywhere to really go.
We got into London around 10:40a so we had plenty of time to explore the Piccadilly line as we planned. First stop KING'S CROSS STATION. Those of you who don't know why that is awesome must be muggles. After we had our photo op with thGe strategically positioned cart we picked up some tasty pasties and headed out onto the streets to find place to watch and eat. Well there really weren't any benches or anything, so we found what turned out to the most sad little sitting area, plopped down and enjoyed our pasties, until it started to rain. But it didn't stop there sudden downpour is what it turned into and all we could do was wait it out.
After our impromptu shower we headed back to the station to pick our next stop. Piccadilly Circus was the winner, we thought that was the location of indoor shopping and such, well it wasn't. Regardless we enjoyed walking through the square and through the streets. We went ahead and walked our way to Covent Garden which IS the covered shopping area that Lisa was thinking of. Meandered through the local artist area, and then watched a very cool paella stand make up huge batches of food. Then we hopped over the the other side where there was the first "street" music playing. They weren't bad either, quartet of strings, playing a wide range of the classics. We wanted to try and get some tea and sit around, but it proved damn near impossible to even grab a seat, those locals were just swoopin' in and taking any chance we had. So we just passed it up and hopped back onto the underground to head back to the airport to catch our late evening flight to Dublin.
Hopefully I can get those pictures in order later, the app isn't perfect and I am having Internet problems.
Ok gotta sleep early few mornings ahead of us.
Great to hear that your flight was not as bad as you had remembered. Looks as if your all having a great time even with the rain being an issue.
ReplyDeleteHey T slept in your bed and only came out twice all night, the odd thing is I really think she misses you cause she gave up a biscuit to charlie this morning, told mom to be nice to her. Took her for a ride to get my care, which cost much less then we had thought it would which was a happy thing.
Looking forward to your next blog and how your all doing on this great trip, have a beer for me!
