A True Tourist Day

So, as you can imagine it was necessary to sleep in this morning. We needed that extra bit of time to get over, yes, our hangovers. Side note after last night we found that there were some really douchie German guys in the hostel bar drinking. We were trying to avoid them, but one was particularly drunk and super chatty. We started joking, "Really hope those guys aren't near our room!" Lucky us, they weren't near our room...they were IN our room. One was passed out on the bed, one had locked himself in the rooms' bathroom (and was passed out on the floor in there) the other had been following us back from the club we went too because he was sooo wasted. It was hell just trying to shut the chatter up, he wasn't even making any sense, I finally just had to hell at every one to lay down and go to sleep.

Our first place of business was the first meal of the day, went to a little cafe near the hostel, pretty good. While we were there I planned out a new route for our site seeing since we obviously didn't go to any last night.

Wenceslas Square: yes like the Santa claus song, if you went there. This local is the center for many demonstrations during the communist time, the efforts of mostly peace to achieve freedom.

A great stop after the Square was the Museum of Communism, it followed Czechoslovakia through the early years of communism until its freedom on May Day.

Next we walked to the Old Town, there are quite a few churches and great old buildings, plus a wonderful astronomical clock.

All the places on our lists were really close together when you look at it on the map and it made it easy to meander down cobble streets and look at wonderful neighborhoods until we reached each destination.
The last to pieces of business in our site seeing agenda were the Charles Bridge (gorgeous views!) and the John Lennon Wall (a rep of their freedom achieved, but complete disappointment).

Well, given how much we walked and how tired we already we, it was time to pack it in and get us some dinner at a small local place near our hostel. Turned out all of us were so tired and hungry that I almost forgot a food pic :)

------- I still like to take pics of these :D

  1. Well here I am writing this for the third time since I lost the last two comments/entries. So let me add a few things before I lose this entry.\

The streets are wonderfully laid out with cobble stone bricks just think how long it took to do that and how many workers.

Is that a choc shake Becca is drinking? Some I wouldn't mind having right now but it's far to late. Any way if you continue on there's that sandwich and green drink, maybe a smoothie, well no matter gee it makes you want a sandwich, even if you had dinner.

That hot air balloon was great and doesn't look real. Not like the ones here. Loved the two of you siting on the street and taking that pic of your shoes, loved that one. Oh and the tree lines walk, that one is so cool and should be framed like the other tree lined pic we have in the hall way.

Any way, it's really great to see where you all are in the world, something that you'll always be able to look back and talk about with your travel buddies.

Looking forward to seeing your next blog tomorrow, mom and I are getting hair cuts, damn I need one any way. Oh, by the way that paper work you faxed for me, well it all went thru and approved, just kept my fingers crossed, most don't get approved, so feel really lucky. Love you!
